Windows® SideShow delivers information from a PC to a secondary device. With this additional device you can view important information whether your PC is on, off, or in sleep mode. Windows SideShow technologies allow devices to interact with various Windows® Vista and Windows® 7 gadgets to receive, send or display information:

Get current weather on a thermostat
Play media on a wireless picture frame
Get station listings on a remote control

Windows® SideShow for Windows® CE can work over USB, Bluetooth or TCP/IP connections, and easily enable SideShow functionality on a wide variety of CE-based devices. Windows SideShow is available from the Microsoft website: see Windows® SideShow Device Components for Windows® CE 5.0 and is also a standard part of Windows Embedded NavReady 2009, a SKU designed specifically for navigation devices.
