TrygTech worked with a well known internet media company to develop a Linux based system for the archival and playback of DVD movies. TrygTech was given responsibility for the overall audio and video experience, the goal being the perfect playback of an archived DVD title. The hardware chosen for the device was a Broadcom BCM7405 chipset; this later migrated to an Intel CE3100 solution. The software environment was the Xine media engine with a Python GUI.

Key development tasks:
• MPEG-2 and AC3 decoder plugins for Xine to access hardware codecs
• Modified Xine MPEG-2 demuxer
• Xine clock plugin to handle trick modes and audio/video sync
• Color conversion and alpha-blended display of DVD subtitles and menu overlays
• Aspect ratios and letterboxing/pillarboxing display modes
• Custom alpha-blended On Screen Display for Xine video player
• Interfaced DirectFB to hardware's 2D acceleration features

TrygTech worked with a well known internet media company to develop an Android based media tablet capable of playing local, internet, and TiVo content. The hardware used was the Freescale i.MX51. TrygTech was responsible for media playback and hardware audio and video codecs.

Key development tasks:
• Replaced Android's OpenCore media engine with company’s proprietary media engine
• Interface with Freescale's OpenMAX codecs for MPEG-2, H.264, AVC1, VC1
• TiVo2Go decryption/DRM
• Audio/video sync accommodating audio latency
• Direct rendering of decoded video frames

Key development tasks:
• A scene programming tool that runs sophisticated commands to automate light and device settings.
• System diagnostics that monitor the system.
• Integration into third party home automation systems.

A care management solutions provider engaged TrygTech to customize their PDA-based assisted living software and data services.

Key development tasks:
• Created custom patient assessment form (ASP page) and stored procedures for new data.
• Upgraded PDA software to support newer devices, while maintaining backward compatibility with legacy handhelds.
• Evaluated deficient client server data transfer mechanism and then developed a robust synchronization solution for data transmission between PDA and SQL server.

TrygTech was hired to create Windows Mobile based secure connection solution for a Global 500 telecommunications company. TrygTech was selected for their extensive system level and UI development experience on Windows CE. Leveraging an existing XP implementation, TrygTech developed a viable design for Pocket PC and SmartPhone.

Key development tasks:
• Created a virtual NIC driver to filter IP traffic.
• Implemented system service to control communication with enterprise intranet portal.
• Developed custom UI for configuration and status of controlled access connection.

A design engineering firm contracted with TrygTech to develop/integrate the platform and application software for a custom multimedia kiosk device.

Key development tasks:
• Developed complete Board Support Package (BSP) for version 2 device (PXA 255 based).
• Migrated and enhanced the custom user interface (UI) and application code for Windows CE.
• Developed complete BSP for version 3 device (PXA 270 based).
• Designed and implemented a custom UI rendering engine for developing application code in HTML to enable rapid and easy modification of the retail user interface.

TrygTech provided project management and development services to a company that specializes in creating powerful and intuitive time study and work measurement software tools.

Key tasks:
• Setup complete software configuration management.
• Migrated application code base to Windows Mobile.
• Restructured database architecture as part of the design and development of a design mode feature that enabled custom time study configurations by the end user.
• Designed and developed installation package, including registration key method to tie the application to a single device.

TrygTech was chosen to provide software development services to a manufacturer of single board computers and custom devices based on Windows CE. TrygTech’s broad range of technical expertise provided consulting that spanned from suggestions to optimize board layout, board bring up, driver and custom application development.

Key development tasks:
• Trained manufacturer’s staff to use Platform builder and Windows CE build system.
• Provided development services for board bring up and drivers (e.g. OAL, LCD, 8 bit microprocessor SPI interface, Keyboard/keypad, Audio, Touchscreen, USB Host).
• Implemented persistent storage and custom device configuration solution.
• Developed custom time tracking application, designed for offsite data entry and subsequent connection and synchronization with remote SQL database.
• Supported device marketing team with solutions for using various third party peripherals and software.

TrygTech created a system using an Internet Explorer ActiveX control as the shell, so that HTML could be used for the user interface. We developed coding practices for the HTML designers while implementing system instrumentation to detect areas where performance improvements could be gained.

VNC Viewer for Windows CE - TrygTech ported Ultra VNC (www.ultravnc.com) to a custom hardware device running Windows CE. We improved the speed and efficiency of the code base in order to meet our customer's performance requirements.

To enable an important sales demonstration, TrygTech modified a sample frame grabber application to suit the company's customer CE device. The work involved creating an efficient scaling algorithm for enlarging the captured video display.
